Tom Fletcher Tom Fletcher Master Doctor

....Tom Fletcher continued

Tom Fletcher is generous to a fault, as was his father in "First Dry Rattle". He has a good sense of humour and when encouraged to sing, produces a strong tuneful baritone. As a child at school he won most sporting contests due to his height which is unusual (two inches over six foot) His father's (Amyas) family were of average male height and speculation was rife when he shot up so quickly as a child as to whence his unusual altitude originated. His mother (Nerys) was of average height for a woman; about five foot four but she came from Pembrokeshire, a land of Viking settlements and remembered that her grandfather and greatuncles had been the same height as Tom.

Tom respects the notion of friendship and is often drawn into dangerous situations through loyalty to others. He has no family except possible cousins in Pembroke and a third cousin who is a farmer's wife in Herefordshire. Abram's adoption as his younger brother causes him some problems, mainly because he does not always take account of Abram's feelings and reliance on him. Basically he forgets about him, not having had him in his household since childhood. However he is very close to Abram, who is unfailingly loyal to Tom.
